Since the general purpose of using the pH meter is to stick it into prodominently meat products the rendered fat and grease from the meat can potentially get stuck on the electrode and probes tip. If any residue hardens to the probes tip you will not have an accurate pH measurement, so it is very important to soak the tip of the probe in this specially formulated acid cleaning solution for 10 minutes after you use the meter to keep the probes tip free of contaminants. After 10 minutes soaking in this solution simply rinse with distilled water and place back into the storage capsule that comes with every meter, and ensure that it is filled with storage solution to prevent electrode drying.
